Ashes Scattering - Dec 28, 2016
Send Off - Journey to the Seas
100 Aquarium Way, Long Beach, California, USA
Upon my passing, you need not grieve excessively. I would prefer that you cremate my body and scatter my ashes into the sea, as I do not wish for my beloved wife and children to be wearied by trips visiting me at my grave site. As a form of remembrance, I suggest that you retain some of our pictures and to keep your fondest memories -- warmth and encouragement of me in your heart. You may also complement your prayers of me with fresh flowers and fruits, my soul will rest in peace! Johnny K Lima (Excerpt from "An Incredible Life Journey - translated by family friend, Ms Maria Drew)
In accordance with Papa's wishes, scattering of ashes was fulfilled by the family and friends 1,000 feet off the shores of Long Beach. Rev Pastor Matthew Chong officiated a simple service with Ms Maria Drew. Amazing Grace and Papa's favorite "He is Like a Tree" were sung during the scattering of Ashes. The ever emotional event ended with Mama's reading of an article she wrote for Papa for the CKS54 publication titled "I Won the Grand Prize Lottery" in 1998.
